Excitement!!

I don't know why, but it seems like my summer thus far has been rather dull and is now just starting to pick up. Or atleast become more interesting.

Case Study #1
Mosquitoes have always seemed to be especially attracted to my older brother, Bryan, and me. I don't know why, but there's something in our blood that makes those bugs go crazy. The third, for example, I came home from work and sat outside for probably ten minutes talking to my mom and sister. Three mosquito bites. Not joking. Pathetic. Sunday, I was taking a nap outside when I got a bite on my lip. It began to swell and looked like I got in a fist fight. Seriously.

Case Study #2
The boy across the street and I grew up together. We are all but leagally brother and sister. Well he is on his mission in Belgium right now. Apparently another elder in his mission right now knows me. Not only does he know me, but he has a crush on me. Or did. And he would go to Chick-fil-a in the summers just to see me. I can either be really flattered or totally creeped out.

Case Study #3
My older sister came down and told me she just got a call from Bryan asking for ideas on how to propose to the girl he's been dating....tomorrow night! She actually got the call last night, so he proposed earlier tonight and they are now officially engaged!!! However, he currently lives in Arizona and will be coming up for law school in the fall. They want to be married before he moves up here, which will be around August 18th, so the wedding will be in 1 month plus a few days. They do not yet know the exact date. Here's the happy couple...

In conclusion, everything has been so incredibly calm and uneventful for all of May and June. All of a sudden, here we are.

My Deep, Dark Confession

I have a confession. There is a poster hanging up in my room. It has been up there for quite a few months, since January, I believe. Here it is.

In my defense, I did not put the poster up. It was put there by my older sister and I found it quite hilarious. Then I watched an episode. The acting was terrible, the storyline was very typical, but cheesed up. Is it strange that I enjoy how awful it is? I find it entertaining and funny. Is this wrong? I am now a fan of the Jonas Brothers.

High School Musical Summer Celebration

Yes. I did it. I went to the High School Musical Summer Celebration. And it was AWESOME!!!! Everyone was either between ages 4 and 10, or the parents of children between ages 4 and 10.

I'll be completely honest, I find all movies hilarious because they are so ridiculous. My favorite scene from the 2nd movie is when Zac Efron sings to his reflection in the little lake on the golf course. That whole song is actually just plain old amazing. So funny.

Anyway, I went with my friend, Franklynn, to this concert. He conveniently looks like Ryan Evans, or Lucas Grabeel, from the show.

Let's compare pictures, shall we?

People thought it was really him. Mostly the kids did. Before we even sat down we had a girl ask for his autograph. The entire night was filled with people asking for his autograph and taking pictures with him. While the parents knew it wasn't him, all the kids were completely convinced it was the real deal.

Long story short-awesome night.

HOORAH FOR SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!

So basically, here is one of the reasons I love spring. And summer. And fall. And any season that doesn't have snow. I love color and life. You have to agree that plants are much more fun to look at when they're alive. I have been able to take all of these pictures within the last week. Thank heavens we won't get winter for another five or six months!!!

All I can say is YAY SUMMER!!!

My final days....

This Thursday, I went to Wasatch Elementary to help out for the last time. I overheard one of the little boys say, "Listen to me, I can talk Western." He then whipped out a Southern accent and said, "Don't you be sassin' on my career!" I am definitely going to miss these kids.

My favorite color...

Usually people will tell you their favorite color is blue or green or pink or whatever. If people ask what my favorite color is, I try to see if they are genuinely interested in the answer. In general, my favorite color is blue. Specifically, I have two favorite kinds of blue.

The first was discovered almost 5 years ago when I went snorkling at Hanauma Bay. While there, my mom, brother, and I were able to see a sea turtle swimming. The color of the water was absolutely beautiful! This is definitely one of my favorite kinds of blue.

I discovered my other favorite kind of blue only recently. I was walking home on the south side of campus, when I looked up at the mountains. Then I saw the blue sky right above them. It is such an incredible color when contrasted with snowy peaks. This is absolutely beautiful.

Please, next time someone asks your favorite color, don't just say "green" or "red". Give a reason.
